An 83-year-old woman is hospitalized after she was hit by stray gunfire while sitting on the front porch of her home on Wednesday, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. The shooting unfolded just before 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 30 along the 2300 block of North Gratz Street in North Philly, Philadelphia Police Chief Inspect Scott Small told NBC10. When officers got to the scene, they found an 83-year-old woman in front of her house suffering from two gunshot wounds to her torso, Small said. She was conscious and officers took her to a nearby hospital where she is listed in stable condition, Small explained. Detectives said they believe she was sitting on her front porch when she was hit by stray gunfire as a shootout unfolded along the block. Officers found over 40 spent shell casings from two different semi-automatic weapons, Small said. Nearby, police reported finding a car riddled with bullet holes that had jumped a curb and hit a telephone pole. The pole fell on top of the car
