46 businesses accused of selling illegal THC products in Montgomery County

More than 40 retail businesses across Montgomery County have been charged in connection with the sale of illegal THC products, according to District Attorney Kevin Steele. During a news conference, Steele announced charges against 46 businesses — including smoke shops, convenience stores and gas stations — following a countywide investigation into what officials called a “wave of unregulated and unsafe products” often found at these businesses. As part of the investigation, Montgomery County detectives purchased illegal THC products at the establishments, Steele said. Officials said detectives observed and purchased products labeled as containing THC, including gummies, beverages, vape cartridges and other consumable products. Some of these products indicate they contain over 1,000mg of THC in a single gummy.
