Multiple people shot in Manassas as police search for suspect

Multiple people were shot early Wednesday morning in Manassas, according to Manassas City police. Police responded to the 9400 block of Wellington Road after 8 a.m. to the report of a shooting. Multiple people were shot and taken to the hospital. It was not immediately clear how many people were shot and what their condition is. Officers have identified a suspect named Marvin Grant and say he may be driving a gray Toyota Camry or Toyota Corolla that has temporary North Carolina tags. Police are telling residents to avoid the area and stay indoors as officers investigate. As officers search the area, access to Wellington Road and the Route 28 Bypass have been restricted. All Jennie Dean Elementary School students and staff are being redirected to Metz Middle School. This is a developing story. Stay with News4 for any updates.
