Surveillance video shows a stunning attack in East Harlem, where an unsuspecting man was attack with a steaming cup of liquid that left burns across his face. The random attack happed Monday night outside of a Cravin Crispy restaurant on 116th Street. That video shows the victim standing with his back turned to the suspect, who approaches with the unknown substance and hurls it onto the man’s face. He suffered burns to his face and neck. Investigators said the two men do not know each other and it’s not clear why the victim was targeted. They also don’t know what substance was poured on the 40-year-old victim. People who work at the fast food restaurant said a white residue was left behind on the sidewalk after the attack.
