Parliament to Hear Interior Minister over Alleged Corruption in Crash Barrier Contracts

Parliament will hear Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev regarding data on corrupt practices linked to public procurement contracts for motorway crash barriers. The hearing will also cover available information concerning the diversion of funds paid under these contracts to finance international flights for MRF Leader Delyan Peevski, the cost of these flights, invoicing details, the parties who covered the expenses, and information on associated individuals. These items are included in the National Assembly's agenda for the week. The proposal for the hearing with Minister Demerdzhiev was submitted by MPs of Progressive Bulgaria. Parliament's agenda also includes second reading of a bill to amend the Commercial Register and Register of Non-Profit Legal Entities Act. Additionally, MPs are scheduled to consider, at first reading, bills amending and supplementing the Protection against the Harmful Impact of Chemical Substances and Mixtures Act.
