Arkansas Postcard Past: Malvern in 1959

Malvern, 1959: Interstate 30 was not yet created and traffic came through town on U.S. 67. Malvern Motel had 17 “Deluxe Cottages” as “Malvern’s only Motor Court with Tile Baths,” priced on Aug 24, 1959, at “$4.00 a couple.” The motel has been gone around 40 years, and a McDonald’s now occupies the site.
