Fire destroys roof of Coral Gables home; residents evaluated at scene

Video shows how a fire ripped through a Coral Gables home on Tuesday morning, burning through a roof and sending thick smoke into the air. Coral Gables Fire Rescue said crews arrived at the scene of 630 Solano Prado “to find a fully involved residential structure fire.” Officials said there were people inside when the flames broke out, and the occupants were evaluated at the scene by Coral Gables Fire Rescue personnel. Video shows bright orange flames coming from the property as smoke pours through the edges of the roof. Pictures of the aftermath show where the ceiling was destroyed and belongings charred. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
