National Early Warning Sirens to Be Tested in Sofia on Thursday

Sofia will test the National Early Warning and Public Alert System across the capital on Thursday, Sofia Municipality said on Monday. The test will take place on October 1, 2026, the municipality said in a notice to residents and visitors. It follows Interior Ministry instructions and will check the system’s technical readiness and operation. The sirens will sound during the test. People need not take any action, and there is no cause for concern, the municipality said.
