BTA, Sliven Symphony Orchestra Sign Partnership Agreement

The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) and the Sliven Symphony Orchestra signed a partnership and cooperation agreement on Wednesday. The document was signed by BTA Deputy Director General Evgenia Drumeva and Director of the Cultural Institute Sliven Symphony Orchestra, Marta Boneva. The partnership aims to contribute to promoting Sliven's musical and cultural life, as well as the initiatives of the Orchestra. The musical ensemble was established in 1933 under the name Sliven Philharmonic at the Zora Community Centre. The orchestra's repertoire includes works from all styles and periods, ranging from Baroque masters Corelli, Vivaldi, Bach and Handel to seminal figures of modern music such as Stravinsky, Bartok, Shostakovich and Lutoslawski. The works of the Viennese Classical composers and German Romantics hold a central place in its repertoire. Since its establishment, the orchestra has also maintained a lasting connection with the works of Bulgarian composers.
