Interior Minister Demerdzhiev to Open Training Centre for Firefighters, Rescuers

A training centre for firefighters and rescue workers will be opened Tuesday in the southwestern village of Pokrovnik, Blagoevgrad Municipality, by Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev, the Interior Ministry said. The centre is located above the former Construction Troops unit, on the road between the villages of Pokrovnik and Moshtanets. Its construction was carried out under the FLOODGUARD 2 project, “Increasing Capacity for Prevention and Response in the Event of Floods and Subsequent Disasters in the Cross-Border Region,” funded under the Interreg VI-A 2021-2027 Programme. The opening ceremony will begin at 2 p.m.
