John McEnroe has said tennis players will need to boycott Grand Slam tournaments in order to receive a greater share of their revenues, just as a group of top-10 players declared an end to the public phase of their protest over prize money at the majors. The seven-time Grand Slam singles champion said players should be treated as partners in the sport’s four biggest tournaments, arguing that their lack of control over both revenues and their own schedules had created tension within tennis.
