NYCHA worker killed by falling tree in East New York, Brooklyn

A New York City Housing Authority worker died Saturday when a tree fell on him in East New York, near Cypress Hills Playground, as the city endured this weekend’s nor’easter. The victim, a 56-year-old man whose name was not been released, was struck by the tree while walking through a parking lot at 700 Euclid Ave, where the NYCHA Cypress Hills Houses complex is located. “We can confirm that this individual was a NYCHA employee,” said Housing Authority Press Secretary Michael Hogan. “We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and the NYCHA community.” It was not immediately clear if the worker was on-duty.
