Lee, Tang capture gold in squash mixed doubles

Hong Kong, China's Lee Ka-yi and Tang Ming-hong on Sunday won gold in mixed doubles in squash at the Asian Games, defeating teammates Toby Tse and Lai Cheuk-nam in an all-SAR final. Lee and Tang rolled to a 2-0 win in the match that lasted for only 21 minutes. Tse and Lai got off to a good start, leading the first game 6-4 at one point, but their opponents rallied to win it 11-8. The second game was a more lopsided affair, with Lee and Tang taking it 11-3 in just eight minutes. This is their first gold in mixed doubles at the Asian Games. The gold medal was the SAR’s fourth-ever in squash in the Games, having won the first one in Busan in 2002. This was also Hong Kong, China's fifth gold medal in Nagoya overall. Meanwhile, in the women’s singles, Chan Sin-yuk of the SAR fell 1-3 to Japan’s Satomi Watanabe in the ranking match for third and fourth places. Each still ended up sharing the bronze medal.
