Domestic violence reports surge during Chuseok

Police received more than 1,100 domestic violence reports a day during last year’s Chuseok holiday, about 44 percent more than the annual daily average, according to National Police Agency data. The seven-day holiday brought 8,017 reports, or an average of 1,145 a day, compared with 793 a day across 2025. The figures were among police data obtained by Rep.
