Bowie ISD kindergarten student, mother die in car crash

A mother and her 5-year-old daughter were killed in a crash in Archer County on Friday. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Sarah Kelley, 42, and her five-year-old daughter crashed on Highway 25 near the US 281 intersection on Friday. It’s not clear how exactly she crashed. Bowie ISD said the little girl was one of their kindergarten students. “A loss like this is difficult to understand, especially for young children,” Bowie ISD said in a statement. “Counselors will be available on Monday to support students and staff as we grieve together.” Brittany Gallagher said she was friends with Kelley, and was devastated by news. “Avery was the absolutely cutest kid I’ve ever seen in my life,” Gallagher said. “I loved watching her relationship with Sarah. You could definitely tell that Avery was one of the most important things in Sarah’s life. She was such an amazing mom.” This week Bowie ISD has invited everyone to wear pink in honor their lives.
