Frankfort mom accused of killing son expected to return to court Thursday

A Frankfort mom accused of killing her 2-year-old son before trying to harm herself inside her suburban Chicago home is set to return to court Thursday for another appearance before a judge. Attorneys for Corie Walsh confirmed she is scheduled to appear in Will County court Thursday morning, but declined to offer details about what could happen during the hearing. Walsh, 40, had been ordered detained pre-trial, despite her attorneys’ pleas for inpatient medical care, saying the Frankfort mother was suffering from a psychotic episode at the time of her son’s killing. “She was severely mental ill at the time of incident and requires treatment,” defense attorney Robert Kerr said in court, adding that doctors who treated Walsh following the alleged murder and her attempts of self harm recommended “immediate” care.
