“A Few Chunks of Cheese” to Open Bulgarian Film Festival in Bratislava

The documentary film A Few Chunks of Cheese, directed by Nikola Boshnakov, will open the Bulgarian Film Festival in Bratislava on September 29 at 6 p.m. at Mladost Cinema, the Bulgarian Cultural Association said on Friday in a Facebook post. The film tells the story of Mina Vardzhieva, who has been running one of the few remaining family farms in Bulgaria for more than 30 years and is striving to preserve it despite the challenges she faces. The film’s director and screenwriter, Nikola Boshnakov, and its main protagonist, Mina Vardzhieva, will be special guests at the screening in the Slovak capital. A discussion with them will follow the screening. The evening will conclude with a tasting of products from Vardzhieva’s farm. A Few Chunks of Cheese is a 2026 Bulgarian production with a running time of 70 minutes. The film will be screened in Bulgarian with Czech subtitles.
