Sofia Offers Free Tours, Museum Visits for World Tourism Day

Sofia Municipality offered free tours, museum visits and interactive experiences on Sunday to mark World Tourism Day, the Municipality said. The programme included free admission to Muzeiko, the Museum of Illusions and the interactive spaces Phenomena, VIDENIE and MINA, as well as guided tours of Vrana Palace and South Park. Advance registration was required for many of the activities. Free guided tours of Vrana Palace began at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., with up to 20 participants in each group. A birdwatching tour organized jointly with the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds took place in South Park at 9 a.m. Participants learnt about the bird species found in Sofia and biodiversity in an urban environment. More than 200 bird species have been recorded in the capital, according to the Municipality.
