First Lady Melania Trump painted a rosy picture of her life growing up in communism on Fox and Friends when she said she had a very "beautiful childhood" and "didn't miss anything." She was born in Novo Mesto, Slovenia , in 1970 and grew up in Sevnica , then part of the Socialist Republic of Slovenia within the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia . During a lengthy interview on Fox News' Fox and Friends on Wednesday, cohost Brian Kilmeade wanted her to explain how awful it was growing up in a communist country, so he could bash Democratic candidates like Abdul El-Sayed and extol the value of American freedom.
