Pompano Beach gas station shooting investigated as man shot still critical, BSO says

A shooting at a Pompano Beach gas station that was caught on camera was still being investigated a day later as the man who was shot remained in critical condition, authorities said. The shooting happened around 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Orion gas station in the area of East Atlantic Boulevard and Northeast 1st Avenue. Surveillance video showed a man get into a physical altercation with a woman in a Toyota SUV parked at one of the gas station pumps. During much of the confrontation, the driver of the SUV appears to stand nearby with his door open as the fight unfolds just feet away. The man is seen walking into the gas station convenience store then leaving and walking back past the SUV, when he appears to exchange words with the driver, who pulls out a gun and opens fire, the video shows. Broward Sheriff’s Office officials said the man who was shot was taken to a local hospital, while the driver stayed at the scene.
