Former San Jose high school manager pleads guilty to paying minors to make porn

A former operations manager at a San Jose high school pleaded guilty in federal court earlier this week to two counts of online child enticement and two counts of receipt of child pornography. The charges against 46-year-old Todd Baldwin were brought by federal prosecutors after he was accused of paying underage boys — including at least one student he knew through the school where he worked, Valley Christian High School — to take pictures and film themselves engaging in sexual acts, according to the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of California’s office. Other victims attended Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill. Baldwin was accused of paying the 16- and 17-year-old victims thousands of dollars to make pornography for his consumption and to sell online. He also collected and tried to sell their used underwear, prosecutors said. He used Snapchat, Gmail, Venmo, and CashApp to communicate with the victims and transfer money to them.
