Woman accused of stealing marked BSO car makes bizarre bond court appearance

A Fort Lauderdale woman accused of stealing a marked Broward Sheriff’s Office vehicle made a bizarre appearance in bond court on Wednesday following her arrest. Shannon Marie Dillon, 42, was taken into custody Tuesday night after the Dodge Charger was stolen from the public parking lot area of the Public Safety Building located at 2601 W. Broward Boulevard, authorities said. St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Florida Highway Patrol troopers learned the vehicle was traveling northbound on Interstate 95, and it was found abandoned on the Gatlin Boulevard off-ramp. Drone footage showed authorities responding to a stolen BSo vehicle that was found abandoned in St. Lucie County on Sept. 22, 2026. A short time later, St. Lucie deputies found Dillon, who was wearing a ballistic vest with the BSO insignia on it, in a wooded area, authorities said.
