Skyler Gisondo Says ‘Gorilla Grodd’ Was One Of James Gunn’s Earliest DCU Ideas & Will Use Surprisingly Little CGI

With “ Superman ” opening the door to a much larger DC Universe, James Gunn apparently had some of its stranger corners mapped out much earlier than anyone realized. According to Skyler Gisondo , Gunn was already kicking around the idea that eventually became “ The People v. Gorilla Grodd ” before cameras even rolled on “Superman.” Speaking with Josh Horowitz on Happy Sad Confused, Gisondo said the project was one of Gunn’s earliest ideas for the DCU, with the filmmaker already interested in doing a mockumentary set inside that universe.
