Independence begins with the free person – free to work, create, undertake and determine their own future, GERB leader Boyko Borissov wrote Wednesday on his official Facebook page on the occasion of the 118th anniversary of the declaration of Bulgaria’s independence on September 22, 1908. “I believe in a strong Bulgaria that preserves its traditions, guarantees order and security, respects labour and gives freedom to the capable and enterprising,” Borissov wrote. “118 years ago, Bulgaria declared that it would determine its own destiny. It is our responsibility to safeguard this independence every day. Happy Independence Day!” he added.
