Man killed, second person injured in ‘intentional' hit and run: Yorkville police

An “intentional” hit-and-run left a man dead and a second person with injuries on Sunday evening in Yorkville, authorities said. The Yorkville Police Department said at around 5:13 p.m., officers responded to a parking lot in the 300 block of East Veterans Parkway for a reported hit-and-run involving two pedestrians. Officers rendered aid to both victims, who authorities said sustained significant injuries. Victor M. Hernandez Medina, 23, of Sandwich, was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The second victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Police said a preliminary investigation found the individuals had arranged to meet at the location. Shortly after they met, the victims were struck by a driver who fled the scene. Officers were working to collect and analyze evidence following the incident.
