Agreement reached to drop charges against ‘Stanford 11' over 2025 protest

The group known as the “Stanford 11” has reached an agreement that could lead to the dismissal of charges stemming from a 2025 protest at Stanford University . A judge Monday agreed to a stipulated agreement between the defendants and the California Attorney General’s Office. Under the agreement, the 11 defendants, who faced a combination of misdemeanor and felony charges, will have their cases dismissed if they complete 100 hours of community service and pay nearly $52,000 in restitution to Stanford for damage caused during the protest. The restitution has already been paid, and two defendants, including Jerman Gonzalez, have completed their community service. The defendants were arrested following a June 2025 protest in which demonstrators broke into a Stanford University building to protest the school’s investments in companies they say support Israeli attacks on Palestinians in Gaza. The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office took the case to a grand jury and secured indictm
