Bulgaria's Foreign Minister Petrova Confers with US Congressman Wilson

Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova has conferred with US Congressman Joe Wilson, founder and longtime co-chair of the Bulgaria Caucus in the US House of Representatives, during her visit to New York for the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, the Foreign Ministry’s press centre said. The talks focused on the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and the United States, cooperation in security and defence, and opportunities for more active political and economic dialogue. Petrova stressed the importance of sustained support in Congress for the development of bilateral relations and thanked Wilson for his longstanding commitment to Bulgaria. “Bulgaria and the United States are allies and strategic partners. Our task is to turn this partnership into concrete results for the security, economies and resilience of both countries,” Petrova said, as quoted by the press centre. The general debate of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly will begin at UN Headquarters in New York on Tu
