Hundreds displaced by gas leak at Dallas apartment complex

A gas leak Friday night prompted hundreds of residents to evacuate from the Alexan Riveredge Apartments on Turtle Creek Boulevard. The residents had to find hotels or worked with the Red Cross to find somewhere to stay overnight. Atmos said natural gas service to the apartment complex was turned off. Those evacuations were done as a precation. Atmos Energy personnel remained at the scene to make those necessary repairs. Atmos said “the safety of the public, our employees , and our system is our highest priority. We appreciate the City of Dallas and Dallas Fire Rescue for their support.” Smell gas, act fast!
