Oakland Roots reach agreement to develop Howard Terminal site

The Oakland Roots Soccer Club, Port of Oakland and a Southern California realty group have come to an exploratory negotiating agreement to develop the Howard Terminal site. On Sept. 10, the Port of Oakland Commissioners voted to authorize an exploratory exclusive negotiating agreement with the team, the port and Industrial Realty Group for one year at Howard Terminal, according to an agenda report. “You are probably aware that we have been playing at four different venues through our seven years existence, very nomadic,” Chief Real Estate Officer of the Oakland Roots and Soul Lydia Tan said. “I think it’s important for me personally as a commissioner to think about the opportunities at Howard as something that will provide strength and health to the entire port and all of our operations, and I think this is really good step in that direction.” A description of the respective projects, site plans, proposed acreage parking plans, potential uses, workforce and maritime integration are par
