A Pakistani carer on a student visa raped a bedbound woman and tried to convince the jury that she assaulted him, a court has heard. Fazli Qadeer, 25, from Peshawar, followed his brother to Bristol to study at university and worked as a carer. Bristol Crown Court heard how, after learning the family of an older user of the service would be away for a period, he attended the bedbound woman’s home during a shift, climbed on her bed, and told her he “loved her” and “wanted to marry her”. He kissed her on the lips, touched her breasts, and carried out a sustained sexual attack on the “extremely vulnerable” woman, which included oral rape.
