A manhunt search for an armed suspect was underway Friday afternoon in a northwest Indiana county, state police warned. Around 5 p.m., Indiana State Police said their officers were trying to find an armed man in the area 8325 N CR 125 E in LaPorte County. Police said the suspect is described as a white or Hispanic man with a thin build and tattoos. Police also said he was wearing glasses, a grey hooded sweatshirt, black shirt, khaki shorts, and black gym shoes. Anyone who thinks they may have seen the man is instructed to not approach him and to call 911, police said. In an update around 5:50 p.m., ISP said their officers were searching the area of 600 N. and 200 E. for the man. “The suspect is to be considered armed and dangerous,” ISP said. “The suspect has fired shots at law enforcement and fled into a wooded area and field north of this location on 125 East.” No additional information was immediately available.
