Work begins on $3.5M pedestrian safety project on Haddon Avenue in Camden Co.

Commuters are being warned to expect lane closures along Haddon Avenue in Haddon Township starting Monday as construction is set to begin on a $3.5 million pedestrian safety improvement project. Officials said, because of construction efforts, commutors should expect to see lane restructions along the roadway for about six to eight weeks. The work will focus on the area at the intersection of Haddon Avenue and Cuthbert Boulevard in Collingswood and Haddon Township, in Camden County. Lane closures should be expected in this area, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays, officials said, as crews will be doing work for this project, including making traffic signal improvements, officials said. “Every resident should be able to walk through their community safely, whether they are walking to work, listing a local business, or enjoying our green spaces,” said Camden County Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works, in a statement. “These improvements will make Haddon Avenue
