Bulgaria, Montenegro to Work for Better Connectivity and More Business Contacts, Foreign Minister Says

Bulgaria will continue to support Montenegro in its European Union accession process, Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova said during a meeting with Montenegro’s Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanovic, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry said. Petrova stressed the importance of a predictable, merit-based EU enlargement process, saying Montenegro’s European integration is important not only for the country but also for the European perspective of the Western Balkans. She confirmed Bulgaria’s readiness to continue sharing its experience and expertise with Montenegro. The two officials discussed opportunities to deepen bilateral cooperation, improve transport connectivity and expand trade and economic ties. “A good political foundation should also translate into tangible economic results,” Petrova said.
