Amazon will be dolling out additional payments and to more customers as part of its $2.5 billion settlement with the Federal Trade Commission. In 2025, Amazon settled allegations brought by the FTC that it misled customers into enrolling in its Prime membership and then deliberately made it difficult to cancel the service. Although the e-commerce giant did not admit to any wrongdoing, Amazon agreed to pay $1.5 billion to eligible customers and $1 billion in civil penalties. Payments started going out in September 2025, but Amazon only issued about $845 million to consumers, leaving $665 million left that the company needs to hand out. The FTC announced Thursday that a revised order expands the number of customers eligible to receive payments and increases the maximum payment limit to from $51 to $200.
