Prime Minister: High-Profile Tenders, Intra-department Transfers and Front Men to Be Scrutinized

High-profile and potentially flawed public procurement tenders, as well as intra-department transfers, will be subject to review, while individuals suspected of acting as fronts for others will also be investigated as part of a comprehensive anti-corruption drive, Prime Minister Rumen Radev said Friday at a briefing at the Council of Ministers, where he outlined steps being taken by state institutions to tackle corruption. Radev noted that those who abuse the law often do not operate in their own names, but instead use front men to conceal their involvement. According to him, the authorities will continue working with their foreign partners to identify bank accounts, properties and business activities linked to front men or political circles outside the country. Inspections, carried out together with other competent authorities and revenue agencies, will also continue in order to cross-check income, property and assets held in Bulgaria and abroad, the prime minister said. Radev said th
