Deputy bitten by dog while executing warrant in Northeast Philadelphia

A deputy was bitten several times by a dog while executing a warrant Thursday morning in Northeast Philadelphia, according to the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred around 8 a.m. on Sept. 17 at a home on Colony Drive. According to officials, the deputy was bitten several times on the leg while executing the warrant. During the encounter, a deputy discharged a firearm. SkyForce 10 flew over the scene, where there was a heavy law enforcement presence and about 10 people could be seen sitting on a sidewalk in handcuffs. The sheriff’s office said two men and one woman were taken into custody on warrants from Delaware and Bucks counties. Officials did not disclose the deputy’s condition. The sheriff’s office said the incident is under review as part of an ongoing investigation.
