Finance Minister to Join ECOFIN Talks on Banking Competitiveness, AI Impact

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Galab Donev will attend an informal ministerial meeting of the EU Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) on Friday and Saturday in Dublin, the Finance Ministry said. In a series of meetings, finance ministers will exchange views on competitiveness in the European banking sector. The first working session on Friday will focus on "The Future of Global Capital - Innovation in the Financial Sector", while the second session on Saturday will discuss "Preparing the Economy for the Future - The Impact of Artificial Intelligence", with a focus on the labour market, the ministry said. Donev will hold bilateral meetings with the Governor of the Bank of Greece, Yannis Stournaras, and Greece's Deputy Finance Minister, the Finance Ministry said. Deputy Finance Minister Metodi Metodiev is also expected to attend the ECOFIN meeting.
