44th Golden Rose Bulgarian Feature Film Festival Opens in Varna

The 44th edition of the Golden Rose Bulgarian Feature Film Festival will open on Thursday with a screening of the co-production “Nina Roza”, the organizers from the National Film Center (NFC) said. Other titles in the competition programme for feature-length films include “She Who Remains”, “Lust”, “Aurora“, “The Dreamed Adventure“, “Shepherd“, “Black Money for White Nights“, “Non-Migrants“, “The Tramp“, and “Women Out of Order“. The festival will also feature special events as part of its accompanying programme. One of them will be dedicated to actor Iossif Surchadzhiev, who passed away recently. Audiences in Varna will see the film „Margarit and Margarita“, directed by Nikolay Volev, who would have turned 80 this year. The Golden Rose Festival will also mark the 30th anniversary of the „Sofia Film Fest“ with a screening of „The World Is Big and Salvation Lurks Around the Corner“, directed by Stefan Komandarev.
