2 teens hurt as gunfire erupts along North Philly street

Two teenagers are hospitalized after being shot in an incident that, officials said, saw nearly 20 bullets fired along a North Philly street on Tuesday night. According to Philadelphia Police Department Chief Investigator Scott Small, the incident happened at about 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, when two teens were shot in the torso when gunfire erupted along the 1800 block of Lambert Street in North Philadelphia. The two teenagers, an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, were struck in their torsos and have been hospitalized in stable condition, Small said. Police were still working to determine how the shooting unfolded but, Small said, one of the victims told officers he believed the incident was a drive-by shooting. At the scene, Small said, investigators recovered at least 17 spent shell casings. Small did not provide details on any suspects or motive in this incident, but he said an investigation remains ongoing. NBC10 is working to learn more.
