DART adding State Fair shuttle buses, more train service for fairgoers

DART announced Wednesday that it will launch special “State Fair Flyer” shuttle buses on weekends during the fair, giving riders direct service from several transit centers to Fair Park. The agency is also increasing train capacity and running all light rail lines every 20 minutes during the fair season. DART officials said they expect to carry thousands of additional passengers during the State Fair and that the new service is intended to handle the increased demand. “This gives our customers another convenient option for reaching the fairgrounds,” said Trenise Wintersm, DART’s chief operations officer.”…without having to worry about driving, parking and navigating traffic around fair park.” The Flyer Shuttle will also operate on Columbus Day, and some of the transit centers include Downtown Rowlett Station and Lake Ray Hubbard Transit Center.
