Sheep Farmers from Across Romania Protest in Bucharest, Clash with Gendarmerie

More than 1,000 sheep farmers from across Romania protested in central Bucharest Tuesday, calling for the resignation of Alexandru Bociu, head of the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority. They accuse him of the way he has handled outbreaks of peste des petits ruminants (PPR), a situation that has led to a halt in exports of live animals.
