High pressure will keep the sun shining and the humidity low for Tuesday afternoon and again Wednesday. This is a nice change of pace when you consider that this first half of September has been running 4-5° warmer than average. Highs Tuesday afternoon will be right around 80° which is just about average for the date. Clear skies and light winds will allow for a very comfortable evening and overnight. By Wednesday morning, most of the D.C. metro area will be in the low 60s while areas west of the Blue Ridge will drop into the 50s. South winds will bring back a more summerlike feel for the second half of the week. Highs will be near 85° on Wednesday and back closer to 90° for Thursday and Friday.
