Bulgarian Patriarch Daniil to Visit Holy Land and Jordan

Bulgarian Patriarch and Metropolitan of Sofia Daniil will pay a visit to the Patriarchate of Jerusalem from September 25 to 30 at the invitation of Patriarch Theophilos III and following a decision by the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church – Bulgarian Patriarchate (BOC-BP), the BOC-BP press service said on Wednesday. The delegation will include Metropolitan Ioan of Varna and Veliki Preslav, Metropolitan Seraphim of Nevrokop, Bishop Gerasim of Melnik, chief secretary of the Holy Synod, Protodeacon Dr Deyan Korunovski, and Dr Alexander Smochevski, patriarchal adviser and interpreter, among others. The programme includes official meetings and talks, visits to Christian holy sites, and a joint Divine Liturgy celebrated by the two primates on September 27. The visit will continue in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, where the programme includes meetings and pilgrimages. Patriarch Daniil is also expected to meet King Abdullah II of Jordan.
