A man was rushed to the hospital after he was found inside a Fort Lauderdale home that caught fire on Monday, officials said. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue officials said they received a call just after 12:30 p.m. of a house on fire in the 1800 block of Northwest 16th Court. Crews arrived in minutes and found heavy fire conditions before learning that someone might be trapped inside, officials said. Firefighters searched inside and found the man in a bathroom, who was rescued from the home and given lifesaving measures. Aerial footage from Chopper 6 showed multiple firefighters battling the blaze and quickly moving the man to an ambulance. The man was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. His identity wasn’t released. One firefighter suffered minor burns and was receiving treatment. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
