The suspect in a Plano murder investigation is dead after leading police on a chase in northern Denton County Monday morning. According to Valley View Police, they were called at about 10 a.m. to assist in a chase in Denton County headed northbound on Interstate 35 toward Cooke County. They said they were told the chase involved a suspect wanted in connection with a murder investigation in Plano, and that a Texas State Trooper tried to stop the driver, but the driver fired at the trooper and tried to escape. Plano Police told NBC 5 the driver crashed along I-35 between View and Chisam roads in northern Denton County, north of Sanger and south of Valley View. Valley View Police said that after the driver crashed, officers quickly surrounded the vehicle and that there was a standoff. Valley View Police said “during the incident, the suspect vehicle caught fire” and that “the suspect was later confirmed deceased at the scene.” Valley View Police did not say how the car caught fire or spec
