The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently updated its equipment authorization rules, prohibiting authorization of devices incorporating certain logic-bearing hardware components produced by entities on its Covered List. However, the rules did not directly target data center optical transceivers, offering China's optical communications supply chain a temporary reprieve.
