Bulgaria aims to welcome at least 800,000 tourists from Poland in 2029, Deputy Tourism Minister Mariela Mudeva said during a meeting with the media held as part of the Bulgarian-Polish Tourism Forum in the seaside resort of Sunny Beach on Tuesday. Poland is a strategic and priority market for Bulgaria, with a record more than 460,000 Polish tourists visiting the country in 2025, she said. Mudeva said that 109,000 visits by Polish citizens to Bulgaria were recorded in July in 2026 alone, 89,000 of them for tourism and leisure. She said that air connectivity between Bulgaria and Poland was already good, but efforts would focus on increasing the number of direct routes and the frequency of flights between the two countries. Mudeva stressed that Bulgaria should be promoted on the Polish market not only as a summer seaside destination, which has traditionally been the best-known tourism offering among Polish visitors.
