China warned the US that it intends to cancel a planned leaders’ summit this month if Washington approves new arms transfers to Taiwan beforehand, Kyodo reported. Beijing reiterated that the status of Taiwan remains an inviolable “red line,” following heightened friction after Donald Trump previously described arms sales as a “bargaining chip”.
