President Iliana Iotova will set a date for a meeting of the Consultative Council for National Security if it is "deemed necessary." "The latest available data on risks to national security should first be analyzed," Iotova said on Monday, speaking to journalists in Silistra. "We want to make sure that this information is thoroughly examined and, above all, that the Council proposes specific measures to the other institutions," she added. The President also commented on Europe's role in efforts to end the war in Ukraine. In her view, Bulgaria should be among the active participants in the European family in drawing up a common position on how the conflict should end and what the future agreement should look like. Iotova said Europe should draw on the experience of previous unsuccessful attempts to achieve peace and seek a realistic path towards negotiations. In her view, there is no military solution to the war in Ukraine. "All sides need to sit down at the negotiating table," she said
