Threat groups linked to Russian intelligence services used Anthropic’s Claude AI tool to execute multi-victim cyber campaigns targeting Ukrainian and Western institutions, according to a threat intelligence report by Anthropic. The US company stated it disrupted operations over the past six months, identifying the Russian SVR-linked group Midnight Blizzard and an operator using the moniker “JackPoterz.” Intrusions targeted Ukrainian government ministries, diplomatic missions, and military drone supply chains, as well as high-ranking officials’ WhatsApp accounts.
